ELEPHANT SHELF exotic purveyors of a really exciting brand of roots, rhythm & blues and swing based music – with the recent edition of new drummer Lee Collins from the Robin Bibi band they are sounding better than ever. 2013 will bring a brand new album and gigs throughout the UK. The music is a swinging rhythmic mix of original tunes plus covers from artists as diverse as T. Bone Walker, Ry Cooder, Louis Jordan, Elvis Presley, Duke Ellington, and Dudu Pukwana. Special features are Diana Stone’s stride style piano and hot fiddle, Vicky Martin’s razor sharp slide guitar and vintage sounding lead lines and Rosie Swan’s subtle percussion and dynamic vocals.
